PUE and Oracle Iberia organized this national presentation of the educational programme to schools providing vocational training cycles.

2.5 million students (current figures) in 102 countries are already partaking in this academic initiative! The organizers are certain that it provides added value to teaching staff and students in the domain of technological knowledge.

Oracle Iberia introduced the current scope of Oracle technologies and how they support academic initiatives oriented to improving the qualification of students as ICT professionals in the labour market.

Speakers at the presentation day included Mr Roberto López, Oracle University Iberia Country Leader and Mr Danny Gooris, Senior Manager, Oracle Academy, EMEA. Mr Gooris highlighted Oracle’s support to initiatives taking place in Spain like the Oracle Student Campus programme, oriented to improving the qualification and recognition of Spanish students as ICT professionals in the labour market.

Roberto López made it clear in his speech that the objective of the Oracle Student Campus is to help to integrate training in new technologies and technical qualifications into local curricula whilst stimulating entrepreneurship and vocational training. In his words: “We at Oracle are positive that we can contribute to a better future… working hand in hand with academic institutions, by providing to our young people the best training possible in specialised technology skills”.

The words of these Oracle representatives were further supported by Mr Orlando Domínguez, Managing Director at PUE, Proyecto Universidad Empresa, in charge of implementing in academic institutions training and official certification projects like the one designed by PUE and Oracle Iberia.

“We must offer our students the best tools to face the future… We must bridge the gap between the jobs that are available in companies and the training our students need to opt for such jobs”, he declared.
